Kerry and Scott met in 2003 when they were both in the 1 year MBA program at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY, and began dating in late spring of 2004.  Shortly after graduating from Clarkson, they traveled to Reims, France together to study at the Reims Management School.  Kerry and Scott enjoyed all the champagne region of France had to offer, touring various champagne houses and World War II historical sites.  At the end of that summer, Kerry moved to New Jersey to begin working for Accenture and Scott began law school at Albany Law.

In May 2009, Scott and Kerry were planning to go boating and fishing at Thompsons Lake State Park outside Albany with their two dogs, Sputnik and Laika.  After an hour in the rented rowboat, while Kerry was reading a magazine, Scott stood up and started walking across the boat towards Kerry.  As Kerry was yelling for Scott to sit down so he didn't tip the boat over, he got down on one knee and proposed with the antique-style ring he had hidden in his tackle box.  After Kerry said "yes!" he took out the two champagne glasses that had also been hidden in his tackle box, and the bottle of Mumm champagne from Reims that was hidden in the bottom of the cooler.  That night, they celebrated over dinner at D'Raymonds in Loudonville.

Although Kerry and Scott theare enjoying being engaged, they are both really looking forward to the big day!
